It is also lightweight and comfortable -- longest call made so far has been close to two hours, during which I experienced no discomfort. The microphone enhancing switch is set to "Low" or "Off" for me -- when turned on, the other party complained of echos, so I turned it off and have since left it there.Overall, a good little headset, which I recommend. I purchased this headset as my first one, and happened to luck out, I think. Clarity and loudness is fine for both me and the other party (headset is connected to Panasonic cordless phone).
I hope you enjoy it as much I did. I bought this item for my mother, because I have already one to myself and I know it works good, you could being at home doing differents things without have a "neck contaction", trying to hold the phone with your head and shoulder. I left four stars because I spected the item in the original box, but my mother receive it very well package, and new.
Agree with other that for short period of time, OK. Even my 5 year old Plantronic did a better job at background noise suppression. Looking for a replacement for old Plantronic headset, so decided to stick with the brand. longer (hours), not good. While sound quality was generally good (tested on a call to a cell phone), but noise suppression doesn't work well: picked up background typing, even on a quiet keyboard. Returning it. chose the over-ear headset, and not comfortable. Ear loop seems too thick for comfortable wear.
The maximum volume was still very low for hearing the other people on the phone. I had an old $15 Fellowes over-the-ear headset that I've gotten a 5 year life out of - but the wires were going as a result of compression near the jack where they plugged in (I use mine on an office phone with headset jack, not on a cell phone). Bought the Plantronics M220C based on reviews that said it's a solid performer for the price. This product comes Extremely NOT recommended.
I am extremely disappointed with this product, and am in search of another Fellowes to take it's place - in my better the superior brand by a mile. I really wanted to be one of the ones to reinforce the value of this product, but alas it fails on all headset points. Lastly, the over the ear piece is bulky and tight-fitting with no adjustability (other than right/left), resulting in ear pain & soreness within the first two minutes of talking. I don't have petite ears, either - I'm a 6' 2" guy.
This Plantronics headset has a double-echo, making it very annoying to try and talk. The in-ear portion is made entirely of hard plastic with a large diameter that was both difficult to accurately place in my ear and also too large to be comfortable - felt like it was stretching my whole ear open and I still could barely hear. Read several reviews on Amazon looking for best price for performance looking again to spend in the $15 to $25 range. The clarify of the low volume was also muddy - poor tone and not accurate.
While others could hear me fine, this set did not have the perception of being full duplex, that is I could not perceive hearing myself talking when I talked (which I could with my old headset) - perhaps this was due to a delayed double echo effect. I have to vehemently disagree. The volume has two settings, + and - (which apparently only affect outgoing microphone sensitivity, and do nothing for headset volume).
i have small ears, so most headsets don't stay on so well - this is slightly better than some for that problemsound quality is goodpeople on phone usually know when mouthpiece is not right in front of my nouth (tilted down) - so, it must not be the best to pick up sound.but, the mouthpiece is small enough that it's not a problem to keep it close & in front.
